Friendship Skills
Welcome to Friendship Fun! It's not the quantity of friends you have that is important, rather the quality of your friendships. Being able to make connections with your peers has many positive effects. One good friend who provides support and positive interactions can have a significant impact on a child's development. Being able to identify what it means to be a good friend and seek that out in others is an important life skill to learn. Developing friendships and maintaining existing friendships can be a challenge for many children. During these lessons, children will learn what a friend is along with strategies on how to make and keep friends. Self-Regulation/Emotional Control
Welcome to In The Zone! The Zones of Regulation group for children aims to empower children with the skills to understand and manage their emotions, leading to improved self-control, better decision-making, and enhanced social interactions. In these lessons, children will be introduced to the Zones of Regulation framework, which categorizes emotions into four color-coded zones: Blue (low energy, sadness), Green (calm, focused), Yellow (heightened alertness, stress), and Red (extreme emotions, anger). They will learn to identify which zone they are in and what it means. Children will learn about emotional awareness, self-awareness, self-regulation strategies, social skills, problem-solving skills, and goal setting.
Emotional Management
Welcome to A Little Spot Of Emotions! We all experience feelings and emotions every day. Learning when and why they show up can help you make friends, stay safe, motivate you, give you confidence, and so much more. During these enrichment lessons, children will learn that ALL feelings are okay. Feelings are like the waves in the ocean. Some come crashing in, while others roll in gently, and they always come and go. We can't stop the waves from coming, but we can pay attention to them so they don't knock us over. Each week, children will learn about their emotions and how to associate them with facial expressions, body language, and words. They will be able to identify, express, and describe their feelings and those of others, and learn how to manage and self-regulate feelings and emotions. Through the use of stories, guided discussions, and fun activities, children will have fun while learning how to SPOT and manage their emotions!
Divorce/Separtion
Welcome to Changing Families - SEL coaching lessons for children whose parents are separating or getting divorced. These lessons offer a safe and comforting space where kids can express their feelings, ask questions, and connect with others going through similar experiences. In this group, children will learn how to express their feeling and help them navigate the emotions and changes that come with their parents' separation or divorce.
Through age-appropriate activities like art, storytelling, and group discussions, children are encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental environment. The group focuses on helping kids understand that they are not to blame for the separation and that their feelings are valid and important. It also provides tools for managing anxiety, sadness, and anger, and helps children adjust to new family dynamics.
The group emphasizes that while families may change, the love and support they receive remain constant. By building a sense of community and resilience, the group aims to help children feel understood, supported, and empowered as they adapt to their new reality.
Teaching Resilience
Welcome to Rise and Shine, a group focused on resiliency in a supportive and nurturing environment where children learn to develop the inner strength to overcome challenges and bounce back from setbacks. The group activities are designed to build confidence, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way. Through games, storytelling, and creative expression, children are encouraged to share their experiences, express their feelings, and support one another. The group fosters a sense of community and belonging, helping each child understand that they are not alone in facing difficulties. Children will learn coping strategies, the importance of a positive mindset, and how to turn challenges into opportunities for growth. The overall goal is to equip children with the tools they need to navigate life's ups and downs with resilience and optimism.
Welcome to THINKERS! Many children struggle with impulsivity - the inability to stop and think before they say or do something. These lessons are designed to support children who struggle with impulsive behaviors, helping them develop self-control, improve decision-making skills, and foster positive interactions with peers and adults. During these lessons, children will learn about self-regulation, calming strategies, mindfulness, ways to control their impulses, and learn how to T-H-I-N-K before they say or do: is it True, is it Helpful, is it Important/Inspiring, is it Necessary, and is it Kind?
